Jay´s Cheesestake
Living in the Mission, there is no shortage of quick and inexpensive food. I stumbled upon Jay’s Cheesesteak about four months ago, and it has been a staple ever since. Additionally, I have now added a number of recruits to the list of fans and am now obligated to share with CIUSF readers.
The Menu: With 14 different Cheese Steaks on the menu, including the Jay’s Original (grilled onions & cheese) and a Pizza Cheese Steak, to classic sandwiches such as the B.L.T., Cheeseburgers and a nice selection of special sandwiches for the vegetarians in the room, Jay's has it all. Add some beer-battered onion rings or curly fries, and you have a good start to the night and money left over for cover or drinks at your favorite local watering hole.
Free delivery, fast turnaround and a friendly staff (sometimes Jay himself) combine to make this a must try. There is much more info on Jay's website. It is also worth noting that local artist Sirron Norris painted a pretty cool mural on the left wall.
