Fresca: Nouveau Peruvian Cuisine

Fresca: Nouveau Peruvian Cuisine

Fresca is a small restaurant with a great atmosphere and personality.  It's perfect for groups of 4-6 people and is ideal for couples. The kitchen is integrated with the mini bar and the waiting area. The staff also was highly professional and charismatic.

With no reservation, I arrived at Fresca with a friend around 9:00 at night, and the maitre d' told us that the wait time was 30-45 minutes. He recommended waiting in a wine bar further up on Fillmore St., and 30 minutes later, I received a call on my cell phone telling me that the table was ready.

The food was sensational. I ordered the “Lomo Saltado”, a combination of pieces of filet, onion, cilantro, all fried in soy sauce and presented with French fries over white rice. It was tasty, and the portion was just right, the presentation of the food also, just lovely.

My only criticism is that, although the food was excellent and the Pinot Noir we ordered with our meal was delicious, the meal was a bit pricy.
