Anthony's Cookies
The classic chocolate chip cookie is delicious, with gooey, warm chocolate and a chewy dough that is sweet but not too sweet. The oatmeal raisin has a hearty taste of oats, with plenty of plump raisins. And for the more adventurous, there are flavors like Toffee Chip, German Chocolate, and Banana Walnut.
Anthony's Cookies is a great bakery in the Mission that makes nothing but cookies.
Since 1997, Anthony and his team have been making cookies on a quiet stretch of Valencia Street (past Papalote and Beretta). The cookie shop is small, with a few benches for customers who want to enjoy their cookies right on the spot. Cookies can be bought individually and by the half dozen or dozen. Employees are always happy to let customers sample flavors before they purchase. I know I have been happy with every flavor I've tried, although my favorite is still the classic chocolate chip. The African-American owned Anthony's Cookies is great for anyone with a sweet tooth.
