Lady Antebellum
If you're like me, you have wide-ranging taste in music. You like all sorts of musical genres, and you are proud to say so. Yet there is one genre, at least on this side of the Mason Dixon line, that continues to get a bad rep. And that is country music. Lady Antebellum has breathed fresh air into the country music scene, and they are performing at the Fox Theater in Oakland on October 28th and the San Jose Event Center on October 29th.
Lady Antebellum is a trio- Dave Haywood on guitar, and Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott sharing lead vocals. The group has not been around for long, having formed in 2006, but their beautiful harmonies, upbeat style and lyrics that describe emotions and situations not unique to the country genre has given them crossover appeal. Many country artists sing odes to small town life, family and God, and thus never leave the confines of country radio. The first single and title track from Lady Antebellum's latest album,"Need You Now", describes a feeling of yearning for a far away lover that, while sad on the surface, is made beautiful by the voices of Hillary Scott and Chris Kelley. These are songs any music lover can enjoy and relate to. Subsequent singles like "American Honey" and "Our Kind of Love" are more upbeat and just plain fun.
Lady Antebellum has opened for big acts like Tim McGraw, Martina McBride and Keith Urban. Don't miss this opportunity to see them as the headliner in a small venue. Plus, a second show has just been added in San Jose- now it's even easier to catch them live.
