Ryan Kwanten in Red Hill.
Red Hill, directed by Patrick Hughes, is an Australian film that crosses spaghetti-western and No Country for Old Men. In this feature film, Ryan Kwanten (True Blood) stars as Shane, a young policeman who has just moved with his pregnant wife to the small, rural town of Red Hill, which except for some contemporary details, could be situated in the old American West.
Like all small towns in movies of this type, Red Hill has a sinister secret.
The plot begins when news breaks that convicted murderer, native Jimmy Conway (Tom E. Lewis), has escaped from jail. Old Bill (Steve Bisley), the town´s rough chief of police, immediately goes to work in order to protect the town out of fear that Conway is coming to Red Hill on a vengeful mission.
Old Bill is right; Conway comes to the town and begins to collect overdue debts using the same brazen style as other characters such as Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees from the classic films Halloween and Friday the 13th, respectively.
